Job description
The server provides service at their point of sale. They inform customers about the menu, set menus, and wines, and offer advice to ensure customer satisfaction.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Ensures the point of sale is set up correctly.
- Knows the menu (food and drinks) and/or the contents of the buffet in order to be able to answer customers’ questions.
- Knows the allergens present in the food/drinks in order to advise customers in case of allergies.
- Knows the wine list and can advise customers on wines to accompany their chosen dishes.
- Informs customers about any special menus or daily specials.
- Complies with legislation concerning the distribution of alcohol.
- Takes and enters customer orders into the software.
- Ensures that dishes match the order and are served smoothly.
- Clears and cleans tables.
- Ensures that tables are properly paid for.
- Ensures that instructions are properly passed on to colleagues at the end of their shift.
- Ensures that the area around their point of sale is clean and tidy.
- As a true salesperson, he/she participates in the promotion of his/her point of sale.
- Ensures that his/her appearance and attitude are impeccable.
- May be required to manage the distribution of napkins, follow up with customers, and ensure that the pool is kept clean.
