Job description

The Assistant Store Manager works with the Store Manager and the Food Service Manager to manage the food service areas, coordinate teams, and actively participate in service operations. In collaboration with management, he/she ensures that all teams perform their duties properly, in accordance with standards and with the goal of maximizing customer satisfaction. He/she helps oversee the flow of service and ensures its smooth operation by maintaining efficient and constant communication with the service and kitchen teams.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Organizes and checks the setup of the store.
  • Supervises the smooth operation of service at the point of sale.
  • Leads team meetings and briefings in the absence of the point of sale manager.
  • Warmly greets customers by addressing them by their last name (if known) and welcoming them.
  • Is familiar with the store’s products to be able to answer customers’ questions.
  • Is aware of allergens in dishes and beverages to advise customers with allergies.
  • Enters customer orders into the POS system.
  • Ensures customer satisfaction throughout the service and responds to any requests during service. Ensures the quality of service and products.
  • When customers ask for the bill, verifies the entire order entered into the POS system for the table in question, prints the receipt, and hands it to the customers.
  • Closes the register
  • Is responsible for handling customer complaints.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the area surrounding the point of sale. Keeps the counter and work area clean at all times.
  • Ensures the cleanliness of the dishes
  • Inspects all storage areas to check the expiration dates of food items.
  • Notifies the technical department in the event of malfunctions in the store’s machines and equipment.
  • Manages cash receipts and cash audits in collaboration with the department manager and the accounting department, in accordance with company procedures.
  • Manages restaurant occupancy and reservations in collaboration with the maître d’hôtel, ensuring smooth service and maximizing customer satisfaction.
  • Is familiar with the features of the POS software and can train the team on how to use the system properly.
  • Is familiar with the various audits that the restaurant industry may be required to undergo (ISRA, BSA, etc.) and ensures that every effort is made to pass them successfully.
  • Processes orders in the appropriate software.
  • Proficient in HACCP
